Gratitude to English
Gratitude to English
I love English language. Because, it has given me my livelihood. I am earning my livelihood by teaching English to my students. English has given me confidence. I am capable of meeting any person. I can confidently express myself effectively. English has enabled me to read considerable number of books which have increased my knowledge and learning. English has enabled me to read classics of Shakespeare, Bernard Shaw, Jane Austen, Oliver Goldsmith, Charlotte Bronte, D H Lawrence etc, and , great modern entertainers like Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Edgar Allen Poe, James Hadley Chase and Earl Stanley Gardener. English language helped me to understand law and constitution thereby motivating me to read the books of Dr B R Ambedkar whose books are so tough that I have seen many who though are fluent, are dumb when it comes to understanding him. I have mustered enough courage to read many of his works. English has helped me read the books of Indian writers like Gandhi, Nehru, Sarojini Naidu, KhushwantSingh, R K Narayan, Amrithra Pritham and Manoj Basu. And to top it all, the Buddhist literature which has eluded many aspirants from revealing it's mystery for we have to delve through vast ocean of literature in order to touch it's essence. Many enthusiastic aspirants have ended up scraping it's surface despite reading considerable volumes. I confidently say that I have pierced the crust if not touched the core of it. And the credit of all this goes to English.
